Simone Pheulpin, un monde de plis

Saturday, May 24, 3 p.m.
Maison Parisienne booth

Simone Pheulpin, a leading figure in contemporary textile art, sublimates simple strips of raw cotton into sculptures resembling coral, bark, shell or fossilized stone. Her precise sculptural gesture gives rise to monochrome, mono-material work, where each form seems to come from nature itself. His process - of coiling, tightening and stacking - is meditative. The pins hidden beneath the ecru fabric reinforce the illusion of an organic, mysterious and silent world.

Éric de Dormael, sculpteur d’ombres

Signing session - Friday May 23, 2pm
Éditions Ateliers d'Art de France stand

French sculptor Éric de Dormael, born in 1951, has been shaping a world of subtle dialogue between matter, light and space for several decades. Trained at the École des Arts de Saint-Luc in Tournai and then at Penninghen, he has developed a singular artistic language that blends contemporary sculpture and luminous design.

For almost 20 years, at the Ombre Portée studio, he has been designing works in brass or stainless steel wire, in which integrated light becomes a material in its own right. Reflections, shadows and patinas contribute to the composition of light sculptures that are as architectural as they are poetic.

Drawing is central to his approach: each creation is born of a stroke, a pure line that structures and orients the form. His pieces, produced in limited series, sometimes take on monumental dimensions, seducing interior designers, decorators and luxury houses.

Her work is represented by Galerie Negropontes, and has been the subject of a monograph published by Éditions Ateliers d'Art de France, testifying to the richness and coherence of her artistic universe.

Meet Éric de Dormael on the occasion of the release of his monograph Sculpteur d'ombres on Friday May 23 at 2pm on the stand of Éditions Ateliers d'Art de France (R6) during the Révélations biennial at the Grand Palais.
