The identity of the Révélations biennial is closely linked to the exceptional venue where it has been held since its creation in 2013, the Grand Palais in Paris. The refined setting designed by Adrien Gardère to enhance the artwork and give visitors an aerial journey fits perfectly with the architecture of this Paris gem. A unique combination which carries on and improves with each new edition.
For this 7th edition, the Révélations biennial takes up residence in the heart of the newly restored Nave of the Grand Palais, a place highly symbolic of France and creativity.
The restoration work undertaken since 2021 has enabled the monument to be rediscovered: Spatiality, flowing circulation and original decorations (statuary, facades, interior decorations) have been rediscovered; the perspectives between the Nave and
the Palais de la découverte and between the Champs-Élysées and the Seine will be reopened; natural and zenithal light once again pierce the monument from one side to the other; the improvements by architect Pierre Vivien, made to the monument in the 1960s when Malraux created the Galeries nationales, have been restored.
The Révélations biennial is a plunge into the heart of contemporary creation, with over 3,000 previously unseen pieces, unveiled to the public through a scenography once again entrusted to Adrien Gardère (museographer for the Louvre-Lens, scenographer for exhibitions from Hong Kong to Tokyo, via Dubai and Tahiti).
In the Grand Palais, the 2025 scenography for the Révélations biennial takes up the streamlined, airy principles of previous editions (whose visual signature is the claire-voies delimiting stands and aisles). The aisles come to life around the backbone embodied by the international exhibition Le Banquet.
