Ateliers d'art de France presents

Révélations biennial and Grand Palais: a unique connection

The identity of the Révélations biennial is closely linked to the exceptional venue where it has been held since its creation in 2013, the Grand Palais in Paris. The refined setting designed by Adrien Gardère to enhance the artwork and give visitors an aerial journey fits perfectly with the architecture of this Paris gem. A unique combination which carries on and improves with each new edition.

A new venue for Révélations: the Grand Palais Éphémère

This 5th edition of the Révélations biennial will be held at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris. Supported by the Réunion des musées nationaux (merger of the Paris National Museums and the Grand Palais) – Grand Palais and Paris 2024 – this 10,000m2 temporary building will house the biennial’s events and highlights, usually held in the Nave of the Grand Palais, during to renovation works in this Parisian pearl (from 2020 to 2024).

EXCEPTIONAL SITE AND ARCHITECTURE

Imagined and designed by Wilmotte & Associés Architectes, this modular proposition is a model of energy sobriety: sustainable materials and arched design enter into dialogue to present an environmentally responsible construction, in line with our contemporary aspirations.

Located on the plateau Joffre, on the Champs-de-Mars, facing the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais Éphémère combines innovation and cultural heritage, while reviving the position of this exceptional site during the Universal Exhibitions of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

A UNIQUE VISION EMBODIED BY ADRIEN GARDÈRE’S SCENOGRAPHY

The Révélations biennial is an immersion at the heart of contemporary creation with over 3,000 new pieces revealed to the audience. With the success of the previous editions, Ateliers d’Art de France is renewing its confidence in Adrien Gardère (museographer for Louvre-Lens and designer of the Swedish pavilion for the universal exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai, postponed to 2021).

Within the Grand Palais Éphémère, Révélations is reiterating the principles of this aerial scenography, with its natural wood clerestory facades, contributing to the fame of this major event in the international contemporary fine craft and creation sector. A signature scenography that seals the identity of the biennial and strengthens the dialogue with its visitors by celebrating the singularity of each creator and the diversity of the pieces.
