Ateliers d'art de France presents

AI and technology, tools like any other for the artisan?

organized by: PIGIS

Wednesday 21th may : 14:00 - 15:00

Description

Generative AI and technological tools are now infiltrating many aspects of our personal and professional lives, and some artisans are seizing them to tame them, put them to their service, push them to their limits, or subvert them. How are these tools different from more "traditional" ones? Are artisans making them tools of excellence, and how? How do customers perceive these tools and technologies? How are their expectations evolving? What impact does this have on the storytelling, or even the pricing, of the objects thus produced?

We're all learning as we go, or rather, as we run, as technologies evolve rapidly and impact our tastes, our ways of producing and consuming, our expectations... Sometimes disturbing, but frankly fascinating!

Marie-Hélène Pigis, a consultant in arts and crafts and AI, leads a discussion between Henri Danzin and Charles de Dainville (JAUH), Nicolas David (Tygre) and Sylvain Quidant (Cogitech), who use both traditional techniques (cabinetmaking, ceramics) and various technologies, including AI, to design and produce their works.
