France - Report - 6min

Description

For Arte, Simone Pheulpin opened up about the origins of her work, in particular her childhood in the cotton factories of the Vosges where her father worked. The artist explains the long creative process that enabled her to develop and perpetuate her unique know-how. Using just two materials, unbleached cotton and pins, Simone Pheulpin creates a rich repertoire of works of art.

Highly inspired by nature, her work evokes roots, strata and concretions. Without ever imitating it, Simone Pheulpin gives her interpretation of the natural elements surrounding her. This film gives us a great insight into her work, her technique, which appears both simple and complex, her inspirations and her future projects and inspirations.
