Metal, Sublimating Its Fineness

Bathed in the light pouring through the glass roof of the Grand Palais, metal reveals its full expressive power. Forged, hammered, patinated, or welded, it is transformed by the hands of master artisans into unique works of art. A dense and vibrant material, metal becomes a field of exploration, where technical precision meets creative freedom. A spotlight on six metal artists.

Andréa Vaggione (France)
New Exhibitor – Révélations 2025

“Unstable Landscapes” is a sculptural installation by Argentine artist Andréa Vaggione that explores, through stainless steel wire, the notions of balance, fragility, and harmony in a world in constant flux. By using this material—both supple and resilient—the sculptor gives shape to a deep reflection on our quest for inner balance and our relationship with the natural and social environment.
This contemporary wire piece acts as a visual metaphor, an unstable emotional landscape that invites introspection. Known for her work in contemporary jewelry, Andréa Vaggione now expands her artistic language beyond the scale of the body to occupy spatial environments. She continues her commitment to questioning the relationship between humans and their ecosystems through contemporary sculpture.
Blending delicacy of gesture with material strength, her stainless steel wire sculptures express the beauty of imbalance and remind us that this fragile balance is, ultimately, in our hands. With Unstable Landscapes, Andréa Vaggione offers a poetic and sensitive piece, emblematic of socially engaged contemporary art, where matter becomes language.

Arnaud Magnin (France)
New Exhibitor – Révélations 2025

Arnaud Magnin is a renowned bronzework artist and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, specializing in the creation of high-end lighting and decorative objects in brass and bronze. A master of traditional techniques such as bronze mounting, artistic lathe turning in brass, and metal shaping with a hammer, he upholds an exceptional craft while placing it at the service of contemporary creation.
A former teacher at the École Boulle, he has passed on his craft to a new generation of artisans, affirming his vital role in preserving heritage skills. His creations feature clean lines and a subtle harmony of materials, where technical mastery gives way to emotion and light.
In his work, light—natural or integrated into the object—becomes a narrative element and a way to enhance materials. As a creator, artisan, and project manager, Arnaud Magnin is a trusted collaborator for designers, artists, and interior architects. His in-depth knowledge of metals and their constraints enables him to deliver tailor-made projects, from design to fabrication, combining aesthetics, craftsmanship, and precision.

Atelier Demichelis (France)
Exhibitor – Révélations 2019, 2022, 2023

At the head of Atelier Demichelis, Laura Demichelis handcrafts artistic lighting and furniture in bronze, brass, and copper, blending the traditional expertise of bronze artisanship with a contemporary aesthetic. Cecilia Moore – Banquet Irlande (France)
New Exhibitor – Révélations 2025

Trained over many years in traditional crafts such as silversmithing, copperwork, and sculpture, this artist now develops a singular practice of metal sculpture. Combining these ancestral techniques with patina work, she creates colorful pieces, primarily in copper. Aware of the environmental issues tied to mining, she favors reclaimed materials and deliberately uses recycled metal and repurposed components.
For several years, Cecilia Moore has focused on sheet metal hammering—a slow, demanding, and meditative technique—that allows her to craft hollow forms in metal. To break from this rhythmic rigor, she began the Strange Shores series, presented here. These sculptures, architectural in appearance, evoke childhood memories: boat trips, industrial docks, colorful seaside resorts, and oil refineries.
As the process unfolds, the pieces grow in complexity: pipework, polished bronze elements, color play, and modular forms lend the sculptures a playful and narrative dimension. Each assembly becomes a miniature landscape to be recomposed—somewhere between personal memory, imagined architecture, and sculptural design.

Delphine Grandvaux (France)
New Exhibitor – Révélations 2025

The artist’s wire sculptures unfold freely in space—suspended, mounted, or wall-hung. Balancing tension and motion, they explore contrasts: suppleness and rigidity, transparency and opacity, fullness and emptiness—revealing an inner space as a place of breath and reflection.
Her artistic gesture has grown lighter over time: forms become more airy, volumes more refined. Each creation arises from an intuitive process, within a studio conceived as a living laboratory where curiosity guides the evolution of each piece.
Her technique of choice is handcrafted wire mesh, inherited from age-old techniques once used for making jewelry and containers. Using spools of wire, she patiently constructs volumes, adjusting each loop with pliers. This meticulous work highlights the expressive richness of wire—at once raw and refined, rigid and supple—transforming it into a unique sculptural material.

Juliette Frescaline (France)
Exhibitor – Révélations 2022 and 2023

Juliette Frescaline shapes iron wire—and occasionally copper—to create contemporary sculptures that resemble fantastical plants, trompe-l’œil textures, or organic creatures. Her work, combining patience and precision, transforms this humble material into a singular plastic language, often welded point by point with a flame.
Inspired by the vegetal world, she captures the beauty of everyday life and translates it into works that challenge our tactile perception. By playing with corrosion, density, and accumulation, she creates a visual and sensory material that is wholly original. Visitors, encountering her pieces such as The Air is Full of the Tremble of Things Fleeing—a nod to Baudelaire—are often tempted to touch, deceived by the illusion of softness.
In a constant search for new metallic textures, Juliette Frescaline continually reinvents her sculptural language—somewhere between sculpture, visual poetry, and tactile sensation.
